1) Malaysia and Singapore (May - June 2010)

I visited Malaysia and Singapore in May-June 2010

According to me, 3 days in Malaysia is more than enough. In fact, you won't miss much even if you miss Malaysia altogether. The tourism department of the country has done a marvelous job marketing the country!

Genting Highlands are nice. Casino is huge. Shopping in KL is okay. Petronas Towers is also over rated.

Singapore! I liked Singapore. Definitely worth visiting. But not for more than 4-5 days. Everything here is man made!

If you want to chill for a few days in a nice posh urban jungle - Singapore is the place. And its not THAT expensive. Sentosa Island is fun. If you go there you should not miss Songs of the Sea show.

Nothing beats Clarke's Quay for partying!

Use Air Asia for travel at least one way. You can easily do the entire trip(both countries, 8 days) on your own for less than Rs.50,000. Not counting shopping that you might do at Mustafa market in Singapore. Use public transport in both countries. Its pretty robust and well connected.

Hotels I stayed in :

Grand Seasons, Kuala Lumpur - Book through Agoda.com - best rates

Visitor's Lodge, National University of Singapore(NUS), Singapore - (You need a student there to book it for you)

Air Asia - Mumbai to KL - Rs.5600 per person

Air India - Singapore to Mumbai - Rs.11,300 per person

Always do these countries on you own and never use a tour operator as long as you are young and fit. If you cannot walk maybe the bus and vehicles of a tour operator may be necessary as Taxi is way too expensive in all these places.

Will put up pictures later.
